I just lobotimized the "google fit" app because even with adb I couldn't revoke network permissions from it, and it has no reason to use 200k of network data per month.

The consensus seems to be if I want a step counter that DOESN'T constantly stream personal info to "the cloud" I need to install f-droid. Possibly on GrapheneOS.

Or just buy a $3 cheap chinese wristband that doesn't know who I am, let alone where...

@khm I use macOS a lot since I DJ and take a lot of proctorred exams but refuse to touch windows. After a particularly long stretch away from my Gnome desktop, I was blown by how intuitive, beautiful, and fast Gnome was by comparison and in that instant I remembered why I’ve been committed to this since I was 9.

@ariadne no please don't get me wrong, I respect what Loongson is doing as it's throwing MIPS a lifeline. I just thought it was funny considering the history of the company with its licence
