Obj-C block syntax wasn’t so bad after all.

A little louder, a reminder:

"Good UX" mostly means "I've seen this before."

Have you ever seen an adult without your cultural baggage approach a doorknob for the first time? They'll start by pulling it, then pushing it. There's nothing "intuitive" about turning a round doorknob. But you've been trained, so you don't even notice.

"...but Apple, but the iphone", the iPhone was never "easy to use" or "intuitive". They bombarded TV with training videos disguised as ads for 6 months pre-release.

@wojtek I think it supports only up to two languages.
@wojtek FYI it’s been supported since iOS 18. It’s not bad, though not great either. 😅

The old web was decentralized:

- Newsgroups
- Personal Websites
- Bulletin board
- Email as a service, not a platform
- Internet relay chat (IRC)
- Early blogs

Then corporations arrived with money and lock-in, turning the internet into centralized ad farms (Meta, X, TikTok). Users became consumers, trapped in algorithms, tracking, and enshittification. Revenue more important than people.

The Fediverse is a way back: no ads, no algorithms, no dark patterns. People first. A web worth reclaiming. And open source is the engine of this transformation.

Take back the web. Decentralize again 💪 Bring people to the Fediverse, promote open source and build federated services.

Just downgraded my 11-inch iPad Pro (2020) to iPadOS 18. It’s unusably sluggish and laggy on iPadOS 26, while it ran perfectly fine on 18. Was hoping one of the betas would improve it, but sadly that never happened.
@stroughtonsmith Sticking with my 15 Pro for another year. Not seeing meaningful upgrades yet, and 17 Pro goes back to 13 Pro’s weight level, which I didn’t enjoy.
Release notes of an Instagram update that finally introduced a full-blown iPad app.
@snornik Xcode is special 🙃
