Teõtihuacăn is a Mesoamerican city that was considered the largest city in the Americas at its height and time. It contains The Pyramid of the Sun, and The Pyramid of the Moon. The city covered eight square miles, a square mile under San Francisco's nine. These images were taken in 2019, when visitors could still climb The Pyramid of the Sun.

These images use the base Aphera Look, "Solaris", and Balance tools for per image adjustments.

Using tokens to form your preferred file names always feels intimidating and overwhelming in Lightroom and Capture One. We went for something that's more user-friendly than picking from a long list of dropdowns or tokens. We dig where we landed with typeahead and autocomplete.

Rugged scenes from the youngest and biggest island in Hawai’i, Hawai’i (most commonly known as Big Island). Being the youngest, the landscape is rife with volcanic rock and terrain. With three active volcanoes, one dormant, and another extinct, it shapes this island in many ways, particularly literally.

These images were developed using a mix of our Looks (Solaris, Chronostasis, and Gambar) and using our Balance tools for tonal contrasts at the per image level.

Building some presets in @aphera, this modified 'Chronostasis' has a nice punchy saturation and depth. Works well for more contrasty shots.

Revisiting and editing images with Aphera is a great way to look at what we’re building and consider the result. The pipeline is custom and built from the ground up, which enables choices in rendering that are more attuned to modern preferences. We’ve found Lightroom to be harsh and overly sharpened, and Aphera’s rendering is heavily influenced by film and cinema.

Bryce Canyon, 2024

An incredible place, but the photos never worked for me. The colors are so intense and out of control. But a square crop and softer edit with @aphera feels great.

Real-time flow editing: Apply a Look you've created to multiple images. Balance the images together, or isolate one to bring it up to a similar tonal look as the other, then balance them together again. Isolate and develop one for vignette. Call it a day and share, or keep the journey going.
