Reading things like “No US citizen should be treated like this” in regards to ICE bullshit makes me pretty irritated. The statement is so close to getting it.

1. Everyone deserves dignity and no one should be treated like that.

2. By allowing the state to abuse anyone we open ourselves up to that same abuse.

Solidarity makes sense from a pragmatic point of view as well as a moral point of view.
