Mostly interested in #ComicBooks, #Chicago stuff, and anyone wittier than me.

Belated shout-out to the following #Chicago #ComicBooks shops for participating in a new #FCBD2025 #FCBD event this year, the "Free Comic Book Day Chicago Comic Shop Crawl":

Goblin Market Manga & Curiosities: Lakeview

First Aid Comics: Hyde Park

First Aid Comics: Little Italy

Howling Pages: Portage Park

Third Coast Comics: Rogers Park

Comix Revolution: Evanston

Dark Tower: Logan Square, and especially

Dark Tower: Lincoln Square.

It was a fun event, including six shops I'd never been to.

It took me a bit after I picked this issue up to notice the subtle gag on the cover.

Both the cover artist, Ryan Browne, and one of the writers, Tim Seeley, are from #Chicago. Seen pictured: a man dumping waste from the Kinzie Street Bridge onto Tim Seeley's cover credit.

This is a reference to the locally infamous #DaveMatthewsBand bus incident, where the band's tour bus unloaded its septic tank onto an open-roof river boat tour.

Bobby Drake is a Jerk!

In the most recent issue of Exceptional #XMen, Bobby surprises Kitty Pryde by preparing Shabbat dinner for her. Here he is, in her kitchen, preparing meatballs next to a cheese grater, almost certainly using her cookware to prepare a very trayf meat and dairy meal, without asking first. #ComicBooks

Two issues into #DarkHorse #Comics limited series The Masked Macher and and it's a surprisingly good comic that I admit I originally only picked up because I liked the title.

A failing Old Hollywood actor takes a gig as a professional wrestler and it's charming, funny, mysterious, and just overall delightful.

I've never read anything by David Goodman before, but I'll be looking for him now. #ComicBooks

Si Spurrier's entire #Flash run so far, summarized in one panel. #ComicBooks
Vengeance of #MoonKnight #7. Jed MacKay has been getting a lot of well-deserved praise for his work on this book, but Alessandro Cappuccio's art and Rachelle Rosenberg's coloring have both also been consistently brilliant.
From #XMen Vol. 7 #1. I'm adding Beast to my growing list of superheroes who I believe are #jewish #comicbooks
