Claude Code History Viewer makes it so much easier and delightful to review my conversations.

It's the difference between spraying and praying using the one off techniques you hear about on social media, and actually reflecting on what worked and what you want to try differently.

“Software eng has changed, we’re orchestrating agentic tools in a development lifecycle”

“English is the new programming language, we’re moving up a layer of abstraction”

Ok I’m with you. But the inevitable next step:

“Most devs don’t need to read the code”

That one’s uncomfortable.

Omarchy - it’s fun, it’s polished enough to inspire me to keep digging to polish it up. But it’s got a ton of rough edges for someone coming from macOS.

But I appreciate that the rough edges are pushing me to learn more about operating systems, drivers, firmware. Linux is wayy different from the last time I tried using it for a desktop (>10 years ago).

ChatGPT Atlas is kinda not good. I'm thinking this is just new product wrinkles. But people, we have known ways to deal with that. Use a beta period. Don't just launch half baked software.

I'm afraid the collapse of software quality is accelerating.

What exactly is a "Fusion" camera? Does that just mean it can do pixel binning to take both 48MP and 24MP photos? #askatp #appleevent
@siracusa the Mesa is now the Plateau
#askatp You guys have betas installed. Is this something you've tested or can easily find out?

We can't upgrade storage on modern Macs. And it's ridiculous that the choices are either data loss (deleting older attachments) or buy a new Mac.

If you delete the attachment on your Mac, that deletion cascades to your other devices (AFAICT). Yes, you can "move" the attachment to another place, even iCloud Drive. But then it's not associated with the conversation and the context with when it was sent. That's still data loss.

Messages in iCloud is broken. Specifically, message attachments when using macOS will balloon to fill up as much space as you have. It doesn't have to be this way.

On iPhone, older message attachments are purged when you don't need them. It's similar to items in your Photos library, and files in iCloud Drive. So why can't we have this on macOS?

This is the one thing I want addressed in Tahoe.

the hottest, scarce, hirable skill in the age of AI just dropped:

clarity of thought, esp in written communication

remove the noise/slop, ponder and iterate a bit before crafting (but not too much), and adapt your message to resonate with the intended audience. that's how you'll stand out. that's how you'll remain memorable.
