I finished the baby blanket dress! it has enormous pockets! I do own a zipper foot! the zipper was still fairly unsatisfying!

Here’s a pic now that I’m not wearing it! I used a pink to red variegated embroidery floss, and i like how it sometimes matched perfectly and sometimes didn’t
bonus, here's a pic of it bright blue

evidence that I loved it before, even half grown out.

Tonight is craft club. I will be taping together a paper pattern so i can have a sewing day with a friend in a couple of weeks. If i finish that, i can work on my big embroidery project
@tripofmice I am trying to come up with ideas for what to gocco print on xmas cards this year, and I was reminded of your place values project. would it bother you if I had "x^2 * y^2, place value 6" as one layer of my printing? also i could send you a card. image attached for specificity

Even tho i bought fabric for this specifically, I was an inch or two short on the sleeves somehow, and ended up with hemmed sleeves right in the armpit. it wears better than I was afraid it would!

i think this will work well with leggings when it cools off a bit.

it is kind of tent-like so I'm not sure how well it will shove under a hoodie.

things that went well: princess seams, darts, bias tape neckline

The Hayden Top Sewing Pattern, by Seamwork

Seamwork
Today in wearing-my-sewing: https://www.seamwork.com/catalog/aberdeen made of scraps - in the photo you can see the ragged hem where I ran out of fabric. I had a disagreement with the pattern about how stretchy the fabric was and had to make an extra neckline - ended up being the not-too-worn parts of an old pair of leggings.
scraps also means I didn't have enough to do the cuffs, but it looks good short sleeved #sewing

apparently this will be a regular feature: today I'm wearing a tunic top I made. (burda style pattern from a couple of years ago) this is the first time I've worn it because I tore a hole in the collar with a seam ripper and I only just attacked it with embroidery thread to not be a hole. also, it has pockets! #sewing
Gotta brag on this on all the social media! Learned french knots last week at our fiber arts get together and finished it this morning. It’s a kit, and i am now a huge fan of kits!
