Hey, UK transport nerds! What data sources are good for estimating travel mode share at a relatively granular level (e.g., city or LSOA level)?

RT @[email protected]

20 mph limits make our streets safer. In the year after a 20 mph speed limit was applied to the majority of Edinburgh's roads:

⬇ Collisions fell by 40%
⬇ Fatalities dropped by 23%

We strongly support a UK-wide 20 mph default limit in built-up areas👇https://www.nihr.ac.uk/news/slowing-city-traffic-cuts-road-deaths-by-a-quarter-study-shows/31621

Slowing city traffic cuts road deaths by a quarter, study shows

"The findings suggest that #COVID-19 is associated with increased health care encounters through 6 months after infection; vaccination was associated with lower risk of long-term COVID-19 symptoms."

This is an important study. It's one of the first ones I've seen that finds a strong correlation between #vaccination status and #LongCovid symptoms. If you're on the fence, this is the reason to get yourself vaxxed/boosted.

COVID-19 Symptoms 6 Months After Onset and the Role of Vaccination for SARS-CoV-2 Infection

This cohort study investigates factors associated with COVID-19 symptoms in the 6 months after infection and compares the frequency of medical encounters before and after infection.

We have a new study out!

The short version is this: "Car Brain" - the cultural blind spot that makes people apply double standards when they think about driving - is real, measurable and pervasive.
