the money msft makes from normal people buying computers is much less than their other revinue sources
building ai datacenters make them much more money than someones windows lisence

@aesthr im pretty sure duckduckgo uses more elecricity to do a search than my gpu does when i ask my locally running model something about lisp syntax

*dont assume im 110% pro-ai and dont think critically abt it. i dont use anything that runs on a datacenter bc i dont like the water issue

note for those who hate ai and datacenters and all that
you can actually just use a locally running ai model as an alterantive to internet search and you use less water like that
just saying

combine this with locally running wiki if you care abt acuracy over speed

@davidsirota this issue with people making money off betting about bad things in the future cna be really easily fixed by just not using money.
if people bet with monopoly money on the future you could still get acurate odds without the ethical fallout (no pun intended)
