absolutely incredible attack vector
I can't think of any GOOD reasons why a service would limit password length to 16 characters. I think of quite a few bad reasons though, like storing passwords in plaintext...

WTF? Did Microsoft hold a series of internal meetings where they decided to use the *worst* possible new name for Windows Remote Desktop? I received an email this morning from a customer who had an issue with “Windows App,” and I was 99% sure I was being phished/attacked, and nearly tossed it in the trash (especially as it had an attached 1MB Word file).

But no, “Windows App” is really the new name for Microsoft Remote Desktop. I have no idea when that happened, but it’s horrible.

So far I've seen dudes on the internet call the new Australian version of The Office "cringe" and "woke" so I guess it's probably actually pretty good.

Some hooligan got into my workshop and hid a wood lathe 😁

I'm living the dream, my mini excavator arrived this week. And of course the first thing I did was take it apart so I can mod it.

So this was a whole shit show that as of now has cost me 2 days of investigation, clean-up, mitigation, will likely cost me more time & also feels extremely crappy all in all.

I'm just glad I didn't base any *really* important decisions on those manipulated numbers, that would have been REALLY bad.

Now I have to live with knowing that most of the growth I saw the past 2 years was likely faked, which feels quite terrible tbh. Feels like not doing a good job after all.

You are not immune to propaganda. Fact check as much as you can, even if the results are things that align to your worldview, even if someone sounds verifiable, even if there is an emotional element and you don't want to feel like the "bad guy" for even thinking that they may be wrong. Fact check things as much as you can.
edit: fixed pretty bad connotation
When an archaeology website uses #AI to “write” an article and it scrapes the Elden Ring wiki. 🤣🤣🤣
