@XLCChelt I don't think it weighs it down if they're used to making online games in this genre and can do so with minimum development investment. We used to get single player and multiplayer modes in games all the time, and it's sadly become all too rare lately. It's okay if people only play multiplayer for a little while and then move on. If people respond well to the game, they can sequel it and expand on it that way.
@XLCChelt I don't see why that means there shouldn't be online. It only adds value if I can play with a friend, whether or not we're in the same physical location. This is not a live service game, and seemingly, this developer is smart enough to not bother pretending that it is. You can't make online populations stick around, and anyone who tells you they can has either been extraordinarily lucky or is lying to you.
@XLCChelt It's got a single player mode and split-screen, and this studio puts out multiple games per year, so they don't need any one game to be a huge hit. It behooves them to move to on to their next project quickly. Frankly, this looks like the first racing game made for me since Trail Out, so I'm planning on getting it, pending reviews.
@mihobu Realism isn't the problem with DLSS5. It's that the in-game characters became entirely different people, not to mention the scene lighting, which affects the mood and atmosphere.
@dps910 My wife uses it daily docked. I use it when I'm out of town for the weekend handheld.
@phillip Nice. I bought 4x18TB drives for a home NAS. Maybe less demand for drives that pricey helped me out too.
@phillip I think I bought my drives right as the AI shortage hit them. They came in a few weeks ago, and my order was placed about a day before WD said they sold out for the year.

@Phawx Right, but there are more ways to achieve that besides emulation. Unless I'm mistaken, there are bespoke native binaries for each back compat game on Xbox, rather than ISOs bundled with an emulator, right? Because that's what I'm expecting this to be on PC. Still good news, but less flexible.

I'm hoping for Metal Arms on PC if we're REALLY lucky and the Rare Replay if we're only kind of lucky.

@Phawx Did they actually say 360 emulation coming to PC? They put together that "preservation team" years ago, and there were rumors recently that a bunch of console games were coming to PC soon, but I took that to mean that they were doing much the same work that they did to get 360 games running on Xbox One/Series. And not to be too much of a downer, but the rest of it isn't all that exciting.
@wizardneedsfood There's the upcoming Eternal Life of Goldman, if you're looking for a metroidvania. There's also a platformer I really liked that almost no one else ever played called Magnetic By Nature that I'd recommend. The last world is total BS, but I think they knew that, because they put it after credits roll.
