I am shocked that a Delhi court has postponed the execution of the Nirbhaya convicts yet again. I am so sorry for her mother. And for every woman in this nation. Shame on a country that lets crime on women be pushed to the background while these men continue to proclaim they haven't done anything majorly wrong. When will the law become victim-centric?

Every time I come out a little of my cocoon and try to flap my wings, some monster stands ready to trample on them and choke me so that I am forced backed inside. There is no point in apologizing now for what happened with Dr. Priyanka Reddy because we as a society have failed miserably. You can go on, fight about fee hikes, about trans bill, about not having enough jobs and yet none of those matters because more than half of the human beings in your country are not safe.

There is something fundamentally wrong with the idea that you can practice your own religion deeply worshipping your one and only true god and at the same time love people who worship their other true gods. The nice Hindi song and the anecdotal Sikh-Rohingya or Christian-Parsee love apart, one has to be able to recognize the cognitive dissonance in that position.
