Senators Lindsey Graham and Richard Blumenthal are quietly circulating a serious threat to your free speech and security online. Their proposal would give the Attorney General the power to unilaterally write new rules for how online platforms and services must operate in order to rely on Section 230, the most important law protecting free speech online. The AG could use this power to force tech companies to undermine our secure and private communications. We must stop this dangerous proposal before it sees the light of day. Please tell your members of Congress to reject the so-called EARN IT Act.

You often hear the term “standing on the shoulders of giants” in programming. But you really grok what that means in free software.

Let me illustrate: the first screenshot is the lines of code that I’ve written for Site.js after almost a year of work on it: a little over 10,000.

The second screenshot is the lines of code in Site.js: a little over 412,000.

Standing on the shoulders of giants means being able to create something by creating 2.48% of it.

@bkastl @meet_judith @pascoda Mein Wunschtraum ist ja das mobil angepasste PDF. Das wird mir so lange auf meine E-Mail-Adresse zugeschickt, wie ich denen vorab Geld zukommen lasse (so wie bei Posteo auch mit der Option Bargeld einzusenden). Falls das Guthaben mal abläuft krieg ich ne Warnung. Sonst nur das PDF. Prepaid-Zeitung. Ohne Tracking ohne Nerv, ohne Play-Store-Shice.

Ich habe mit Zeitungsabos ein sehr großes Problem: Ich mag es nicht, wenn mir beim Zeitunglesen ständig wer über die Schulter guckt und verfolgt, was mich interessiert. Ich finde das undemokratisch. Beim Abo bin ich eingeloggt (nerv!) und meine Aktivität einfach zu verfolgen.
