Keep thinking a lot about how many folks put tremendous effort in this ecosystem, even when it seemed unnecessary and out of touch.
Also, about how in a moment of crisis, for many it was a place to come to and how, somehow, surprisingly, that even kind of worked out.
Yes, there is a lot of work to do still and sadly this environment has turned out openly hostile to some.
At the same time, this is where the alternative is practiced, and we have to stay with the trouble and the complexity and work through these issues.
Shortcomings of this ecosystem should essentially be considered a societal debt that came due for failing to cultivate public alternatives when it was not necessary or cool to do so.
