@chikim @ZBennoui interesting. Thanks. I assume they each have their own way of getting into a mode like this?
@ZBennoui Awesome. Thanks for the info. I already have a ChatGPT subscription so it won't hurt to play with both of them a bit.
@jaybird110127 @techsinger @mcourcel Thanks. At least it sounds like it's worth tinkering with and not a total dead end.
I want to have a play with Claude Code, but I understand that there are some a11y issues around accessibility to the terminal in Windows. That said, I know screen reader users are working with this successfully. Has anyone posted a write-up or FAQ? Also, Codex or Claude Code? I'm just starting, so not married to either. I want to create windows binaries or simple web apps. Thanks! #A11Y #claudeCode #Codex
@FreakyFwoof I remember having one of these that I paired with a Trekker. One day I was on the bus to work, got off the bus, the bus pulled away, and my trekker indicated it had lost connection to the receiver. Imagine the panic when I realized my receiver had gone for an extra ride. Luckily, I was able to notify the bus service and got it back.
@bitsacb Wow is this a new feature? Who knew? I've been a JAWS user forever, worked for that company for years, and never heard of this keystroke until I was today years old. Also, control+insert+f12? Good luck! i'm trying to figure out how to make my fingers go that way. LOL.
@ricky_enger Ugg they're so annoying. And they mishear everything. Yesterday, I was trying to ask Gemini Home about a local restaurant called Sushi Bon. It kept insisting there was no such restaurant. Well, turns out it was hearing "Sushi balm". Now There's an idea for a new skincare product for ya. ;)
@amy0223 Ugg I know. Every day they somehow manage to lower my expectations even more.
@mcourcel Yeah. I guess i'm more disappointed in Google cause they already have such a nice experience in the Gemini app. not sure why the smart speaker can't just be a portal to that experience.
So I'm starting to realize that I'm generally disappointed in the new generation of smart speaker voice assistants. Gemini for home is nowhere near as competant as the full Gemini. It often mishears me or even when it does hear me correctly, gives inaccurate information, and don't even get me started on Alexa Plus. oh well, maybe some day.
