I love when I put in my AirPods, click the stem to presumably start playing from the phone in my pocket, and instead, music begins playing on my Mac in the next room…

which I've told it NOT to auto-connect to…

and it plays through the computer's speakers, not even through the AirPods!

(I wish there was a global setting to tell a pair of AirPods, “Always reconnect to the last-used device. Never ever ever automatically switch.”)

Earlier today Elon Musk said that my ban was temporary, 45 min later he denied my appeal to reinstate my account and confirmed that I am *permanently* banned. The email I just received says the decision cannot be reversed.
I have never once violated Twitters rules or terms of service. I’ve never had a single tweet flagged, my account was permanently banned with no warning and with no reason, after I reached out to Musk for comment.

I rattled out in my wheelchair across the ice to get some wintry morning pictures earlier. Felt dreadful 🤪. Always makes me sad to see what fit and well photographers can achieve. If I don’t admit to this I’d be one of this dreadful evergreen cheerful people on social media. The frosty countryside around Tavistock this morning, you can see the moor usually but it’s wreathed in fog here #Dartmoor #Devon
What kind of a man, said to be the world’s richest, spends $44 billion to give a platform for racists, antisemites, white nationalists and others to spread hate and abuse? What kind of man defends a man who abuses his power to incite violence and end the peaceful transfer of power?

Seth Abramson is over on Post bitching about Mastodon and his arguments are just ludicrous.

He was surprised to find out that admins might be able to read your private messages???

HELLO HENCE THE WARNING MSG.

Twitter had 7K employees w. access. GOD ONLY KNOWS what is going on over there at Post. No "trust your local admin" is remotely possible there.

He has titled the piece something Super Scary telling everyone to ditch this site.

I'm done with him.

Unfollowed him immediately.

Via the New York Times: Meet some of the people who are the fossil fuel industry's handmaidens in destroying the planet's ability to sustain human civilization. Needless to say, deceit is one of their tactics.

‘NO’: Grad Students Analyze, Hack, and Remove Under-Desk Surveillance Devices Designed to Track Them

In October, the university quietly introduced heat sensors under desk without notifying students or seeking their consent. Students removed the devices, hacked them, and were able to force the university to stop its surveillance.

If you want to delete all your old Twitter DMs (which I think is a good idea even if Twitter might retain copies of them somewhere), and also your historical likes, RTs, and any tweets you don’t want to keep, I made a Twitter app for that.
It’s called Semiphemeral and it’s pretty easy to use. I posted instructions for how to do it https://twitter.com/semiphemeral/status/1591258781098594304?s=46&t=L4aWvmyNxEFRL6eULgeO-A
