HI,

I'm Alessandro, I live in Italy in a small village bordering Vineyard Landscape of Piedmont: Langhe-Roero and Monferrato where I live with my family: my wife Silvia, my daughter Olivia, and another daughter arriving.

I escaped from a big city showing some mild symptoms of misanthropy, but I am generally harmless.

I'm an object oriented software design and programming consultant. Mostly writing in Ruby, but experienced on a range of the so-called stack.

@thoughtbot 100% of all code should be sourced by a human. Whether they "used AI" is in one sense irrelevant because if they can't explain every single line of code they are submitting, why it's there, what it does, which alternatives they considered and discarded, how it contributes overall to an improving architecture, etc., *they are not doing their damn job.*

Happy to announce that Gem Fellowship applications are now open! If you're a Ruby open source maintainer, this grant program is for you. 💎

Introducing Alessia Ragni!

Alessia is a Ruby developer who landed in the language by accident, her first company happened to use Ruby, and she immediately fell in love with its elegance and the fact that it lets you feel clever without actually being a genius.

Most of her experience comes from working in two companies on real production projects, across Ruby on Rails and Elixir. Ruby handled the design, Elixir handled the chaos. Both taught her a lot.

In this modern era of acquisitions, weak antitrust regulations, and platform capitalism leading to extreme concentrations of wealth, non-profits remain a bastion defending what remains of the commons.
