@sfstandard my question isn’t about homelessness per se. I want to know why some Bay Area cities seem so dysfunctional at every level (looking at you, Oakland). Why are they so hard to govern?

raminfOnce the #Oakland A's move out, the city and county could turn the Coliseum and parking lot into an outdoor homeless space. It already has bathrooms. The food stalls could be set up to distribute meals, and other stalls could be taken up by health and government services.
They could hand out tents and blankets for those who want to remain outdoors, otherwise offer beds in the arena. Until city figures out what to do with the space long-term, they could put it to use.
Congratulations to @citysideguild employees on your new #union. Props to management for doing the right thing and understanding that workplaces are better when they work together.
