raminfOnce the #Oakland A's move out, the city and county could turn the Coliseum and parking lot into an outdoor homeless space. It already has bathrooms. The food stalls could be set up to distribute meals, and other stalls could be taken up by health and government services.
They could hand out tents and blankets for those who want to remain outdoors, otherwise offer beds in the arena. Until city figures out what to do with the space long-term, they could put it to use.
Congratulations to @citysideguild employees on your new #union. Props to management for doing the right thing and understanding that workplaces are better when they work together.
Here’s my #oakland #baseball hope: 10 minutes after Vegas approves Fisher’s move, Dave Stewart and Joe Lacan announce a partnership for a majority black-owned franchise in Oakland. It’s a viable market. Name them the Oakland Panthers and they help revitalize interest in baseball among African Americans, capture the whole ass market and beat the Vegas Traitors right out of the gate. Even Manfred knows it’s the right move. Oh and a #wnba team to thrill us at the Arena while we wait for a new east Oakland stadium.
