@neiljhaveri been a great fan of Mimestream since its earliest days and am looking forward to the iOS beta when it appears. :)
so @gruber my guess is Masimo isn’t playing ball as their founder and CEO Kiani thinks people should buy "real” pulse oximeters from them rather than fake ones from Apple and they will defend their expesive one use things rather than a multi use device that gives an indication of your blood oxygen level. He is completly open about it and my guess is as you mentioned on Dithering they can charge whatever they want and will do so.
@daringfireball so you have to trust the police not to abuse the power or that the judiciary define how it can be applied. But there is often a complete lack of understanding of the technology when it comes to legislation.

‘Changes to U.K. Surveillance Regime May Violate International Law’

What will actually happen, I believe, is that E2EE messaging platforms like WhatsApp (overwhelmingly popular in the U.K.), Signal, and iMessage *will stop working and be pulled from app stores in the U.K.*, full stop. The U.K. seems to think it’s a bluff; I don’t.

@daringfireball the other problem is the way UK laws have a tendency to work, back in the mid 80s a new law (computer misuse act) was being passed and I was running a conference at which one of the MPs who was sponsoring the bill was talking and I explained that the law as written meant everyone was breaking it. He explained that they did't mean it to be enforced like that and only planned to enforce it for serious breaches …
@caseyliss yeah I know about the TestFlight behaviour / I was just wondering if the number of “free searches” should be partially reset if people unsubscribe they have paid previously entice them in with a few free searches. One other query no idea of this is possible was / am on a very dodger net connection and when you start up it populates the home page apparently from the net / could some things be cached?
@caseyliss just wanted to say how good CallSheet has turned out. Love the way you present the data especially for episodes makes it much more useful. One query when your subscription ends (in test flight) you have to resubsxribe ti test again as there are no searches left (doesn’t reset - even partially). Excellent tool!
@caseyliss jeard you bemoaning the App Store review process and the whole copyright image issue. Thought of a new revenue stream for you - ask producers / distributors of current (smaller movies) to (a) Levene you the rights and (b) pay you a small amount to be a launch partner. Have fun the app is excellent a couple of minor things I dislike and I’d like to search within a result for certain details. Plus a link the IMDB full cast list. :)
@caseyliss did you see this and is it your app - or do other people do it as well - but I did think of you
@caseyliss there was a point a couple of years after I left when something changed and it annoyed me that the ability to find data had been messed with. It’s was the still the go to option & the pro version was less horrible. I’m just curious how you are presenting the data. For me the totality of the data on a single page was the thing one of the simple pleasures of the email interface that @gruber mentioned in the last few weeks reminding me that I wrote it.
