Quick question though - has anyone done an analysis of what the impact has been when no driverless cars were in operation in a similar event?
More or less injury, or property damage, or financial loss, or inconvenience comparatively?
A sincere question, I have no idea.
I do, personally, think all the attention expended driving is probably a dead-weight loss, but that could be remedied by better transit, or more WFH not just bots

I have an Adobe subscription left over from a particular client and I'm not re-up ping. How does Inkscape fare as an alternative? Any better that are open source to recommend?
@jaredlholt.bsky.social They style themselves like 'The Merovingian" from the Matrix, powerful, decadent, and relishing the "wiping one's a** with silk" frisson that the Merovingian extolled in the movie, but they're really more like those one of those Russians famed for shoveling caviar off the buffet onto a mound on their their plates while they can because they've had their minds blown by such wealth and expect it's going to be taken away.
