Chatkontrolle ist viel schlimmer als die Stasi in der DDR.

Das muss jeder/jedem klar sein.

@davidr Pair programming? Software teaming?
@georgetakei You have failed your children, the poor, the mentally ill, your democracy, Gaza, the climate, your future ... our future. The world's richest and most powerful country, and also the most disappointing.

@benroyce The nefariousness ... came into play in Crimea, because it was Russia that had bases there.

So ... bases good, except if the base owner is a dick.

@benroyce Sometimes military bases are more nefarious. But if the US public stops putting 🍊 in power again and again (🤦) Greenland will probably keep preferring US bases to the alternatives ...

@benroyce Just a little headsup about having foreign military bases in your country. This is usually _a good thing_ because his means that the country providing the soldiers is prepared to defend you. Not with the soldiers on the base, because they are too few and will be run over in a war. But when the base is run over the country providing the troops will be dragged into the war on your side.

If Ukraine had had a US military base in Crimea ... the war would now have been over years ago.

@gknauss This. Except it was worse. They actually turned out to support the fascist convicted insurrectionist. I must admit didn't see that coming.
@marick In Norway there are two competing meteorological services. One is named Yr (word means drizzle) and the other is named Storm. There is a web page that shows both, called Pent (which means pretty - as in pretty weather) https://pent.no/59.91273,10.74609
@micahflee Uncertain how selling a used Tesla changes anything. Not buying a new one is an idea, but believe me, every used Tesla will find a buyer, and then, what have been gained?
@timbray I must admit I couldn't see from @kathhayhoe's post that she is aware what Mastodon is. If I had I wouldn't have posted my response. Also I am unsure if you know. Example: You refer to "the culture here": There isn't one culture on Mastodon. There are many, many cultures. And you are shaping the one around your account, so the culture you experience is not the culture I experience. There are no algorithms that shape what you see, it is just your choices.
