Some years ago a saw a Youtube video of a guy talking about "design for deletion": creating software in so small and well-defined modules that the day you're not happy with it anymore you can just reimplement it. He talked about the opportunities and how to create infrastructure for this. I cannot find the video ... ever seen or heard anyone talk about this?
News organizations have long ago solved the question of how to handle liars; either you ignore them, correct them using other sources in context or put editorial corrections in. But can you do that with ex-presidents who lie and distort in every other sentence? Yes! Yes! Yes! And you have to do it, if not you are promoting the lie, and that is not why you exist.
Elgato StreamDeck's new plugin install process has a user experience so poor they deserve to loose their market lead in devices like this. Enshitification-🏆.
