I guess this may be written in the manual somewhere, but I really wasnt expecting that to happen.

This little radio just keeps surprising me!

For a lot of my coverage tests, I've been using my UV-Pro + RadioMail on my iPhone. This morning when I was testing, I forgot to change the channel over to the Winlink channel, but instead was on the local club repeater memory.

When RadioMail established the BLE TNC session it :
- automatically switched channels to the correct frequency
- Completed the session
- Returned me to the originaly memory channel I was on

One pleasant surprise i just had with my UV-Pro came when continuing my ongoing Winlink exercises.

A couple of weeks back I set up a Winlink Gateway in my shack for testing with the radio club / local fire department.

Nothing like travel to stir the desire for even more travel!

Spent the morning wandering around Antigua Guatemala, followed by an ATV tour up a volcano for a sunset visit to a Hobbit Village!

100 years ago today, Australia's first public radio station, now called ABC Radio Sydney, did its first broadcast.

Ok, temporary repairs in place and we’ll see how it tunes up now.

Also, some additional photos I took of the tree while up there!

As an aside: I’ve been in this house now for 8 months, but that hill is covered in about 10 years worth of pine needles. Makes for a really stable base to jump and try and reach the dangling end-fed!

A huge milestone on my ham journey! I have joined the ranks of those who can say “sorry, my main antenna has been down since the storm last weekend”.

It also explains why my contacts were so poor last night!

Note: my EFHW was hanging over that branch that is now on the ground.
