Since today is clearly Hypercard Appreciation Day, I wanted to take a moment to talk about one of the things I still find incredibly compelling about it: an internally consistent conceptual model that could be selectively revealed to users rather than overwhelming them with choices.

At its simplest, a Hypercard document was a series of “cards” collectively referred to as a “stack.” You could use simple paint tools to make art on each card, and move between them in sequence, flipbook style.
