I have really enjoyed the first two books by Cedar McCloud in the Eternal Library #QueerFiction series. When I saw the third book The Flame that Sings was looking for backers, I jumped on the opportunity for some special editions. They finally arrived today, and they are incredible. The packaging is thoughtful, the hardcovers are beautiful. But the thing that has me crying is the hand-painted designs on the edges of the pages. My photos can't do it justice.

The first two books have great #AroAce and #QueerPlatonic representation. Today is a snowy cozy day perfect for diving into the newest book.

#TransJoy #DataViz I'm genderfluid and have been logging my experience of gender almost daily since October of 2013. I present to you a moving histogram of my gender data by month, starting in 2013. The center of the graph is neutral, either bigender or agender or somewhere in that area. The further to the right the more masculine, the further to the left the more feminine. Height of the bar is the number of days during that month that were in that gender range. The leftward shift for the last 20% or so coincides with my shift towards feeling mostly fem and deciding to pursue FFS, and after FFS it's basically all on the left side, possibly because my observation of myself matches my internal experience better now. Data is beautiful.
As the days start getting shorter here in the northern hemisphere, I have a history of struggling with depression. This year, one of the ways I've chosen to try to combat that is to carry on with the joy I had with my garden this year. So, here are some pictures of my tiny winter garden plants! I put seeds from a random envelope in each pot. One is spinach, the others are unknown yet. Any guesses? #winterGarden #solarPunk
Bigotry is illogical.
Also #SolarPunk the bicycle parking at the grocery store was absent when it first opened. I sent emails twice a week to the store manager requesting some, and eventually got a single "6-bike" rack, placed so close to the column you're lucky to get 4. Well today there were 6, so they locked to the accessibility railing. Time to resume my email campaign!
Today's #Bicycle #Sketch was a just-for-fun one rather than a serious imagining of a future project, and I think that's okay sometimes. The transit system in my city doesn't go many places so I rarely get to take it, but I did several times this week!
Today I rode my bike to the park and the grocery store, as is tradition. At the park there was trash strewn around that I picked up, and I drew a #BicycleSketch of a water level sensor because it's fun to check the stream on my ride. Saw 6 dogs and 3 toddlers swinging on the playground.
I have struggled my whole life with thoughts of suicide. I didn't think I'd make it this far. Imagining the future is painful for me. But it's so important to try! The second reason is how it changes my mindset before I journal. Rather than just noting down what's going on or how I'm feeling, it puts it in context of how I can effect change in my life and my community. It helps me think about the systems that affect my life, and how I can affect them. Writing flows easily. #Journaling #Sketching
I started some spinach plants indoors over the last few weeks, and over the weekend I planted them outside in my garden. They looked okay when I first got them in and watered them, but by the end of the day they kinda look melted. It's definitely hot, and a later batch may work out better. Trying not to be frustrated about it. On the upside, I gave away a dozen tomatoes over the weekend! And I got some fancy shiney highlights in my hair last night which is filling me with #TransJoy. #SolarPunk
Finally I get a chance to participate in #mosstodon! No idea what kind this is but it's very pretty.
