Donations were covering expenses for a while, but they've dropped off in recent months.
I'm still okay to keep covering the shortfall personally, and intend to do so forever if I can.
In the long run, I reckon it's best for blorbo.social to minimise the reliance on me personally, just in case, y'know. Cos shit happens.

@scumsuck so bizarre to me that there are people who can't see any significant difference between hate speech & shipping.
I had been assuming that there was some 'fake news' provider out there, telling baraag-wanters that blorbo is their road to baraag.
@Beebz yeah we have to reject aethy media because some of it is illegal where I live (Australia) and I don't wanna go to prison.
But aethy seems well-moderated for the stuff that matters most to us (such as hate speech), so of course we federate.
We don't federate with baraag.
We regularly get people applying for accounts on blorbo.social, stating that their reason for applying is so that they can have access to baraag.
We just reject those applications.
Why do people keep assuming that they can get access to baraag through us?
@angelfeast it's not currently supported on mastodon (although it's possible on some other non-mastodon fediverse platforms).
If it ever comes to mastodon, I don't see any reason why we wouldn't enable it here
