bluegrue@adipolak I'd say one of the forever arguments. Right now my circle is arguing Go vs Rust. Go is very approachable, like Python, and has a huge job market. The opposing argument is that it clearly is going to have unpredictable behavior since it has a garbage collector, and is behind Rust in terms of safe runtime, which means maintenance costs should be lower. For a serverless solution I'd have to say Go, except writing in it makes me feel like I'm ignoring all my experience in what makes a safe language. So I'm writing Rust instead, which is hugely verbose, but is a far better language and has a growing market share because of it. (Really, I want Rust with the F# type system.) Anyways, either Go or Rust are good bets today.
