We went Back to the Beginning, though it would soon end
And we closed out the summer trading principles for Russian "friends"
In September, words became actions, that's all I will say
And then we quit governing for like 43 days
Limping through month eleven with elections, crashes, and coups
Then more assholes with guns gave us the blues

There was an eclipse and the oscars; we moved clocks so no one could rest
Then JD Vance killed the pope. Allegedly I guess.
In May, more shootings, tornadoes, but hey, a new pope
Then a Big Apple primary gave USians hope
