UghhhhhhâŚ. I think I have whatever Ferris Bueller was pretending he had
Iâm sorry, but journalism in this country is shit. A shooting in the middle of Sydney this morning and every news report is contradictory on very basic facts, like which council area this occurred in (not hard if you are actually reporting and not just scrolling through Twitter), how many people were involved, and if someone died or not. If you donât know, donât report it as fact.
This looks like one of my constructions in
#TOTK@Steveb thatâs the thing though! 3 was a great *idea* (but 4 was awful). Honestly I think BM has often failed on execution- maybe Brooker should be ideas man, and leave execution to others. I still love his vision, but I think others could help hone it.
I watch the news and I really wish someone would cut through the disingenuous bullshit and just say âWe are not investing in initiatives that impact climate change/equality/long term benefits to society because we are old white dudes and this will not directly affect us personally, or our bottom line, in the next five years, so we donât actually care.â It would be refreshing.
Does anyone else habitually sing âWest Necludaâ to the tune of âWest Virginiaâ while playing
#totk? Just me?
@Steveb I think Iâm the only person who really liked 3! I disliked 4 immensely and canât understand how it even made it in there. I loved 5 but I think it wasnât really a Black Mirror episode - apparently it was originally supposed to be part of a spin-off series called Red Mirror, and I think it should have been.
I think the biggest difference between Sydney and Melbourne is that most people in Sydney only talk about home renovations/prices/purchases/lack thereof and it is incredibly, utterly, soul destroyingly boring.
