Steve BJust finished watching #blackmirror season 6.
The first episode was worthy of being part of BM, the rest… nah.
Episode 2 was good enough, but 3, 4 and 5 were pants.
Black Mirror has run its course.
Adele@Steveb I think I’m the only person who really liked 3! I disliked 4 immensely and can’t understand how it even made it in there. I loved 5 but I think it wasn’t really a Black Mirror episode - apparently it was originally supposed to be part of a spin-off series called Red Mirror, and I think it should have been.
@adele I thought 3 was your classic “it’s BM, just not very good”. Neither 4 or 5 should have been there IMO.
4 was just regurgitative garbage. 5, as a stand-alone was OK, but as you say…. Not BM.
I’m a big BM fan and don’t expect every episode of every season to be a win, for really, for me, all but e1 missed the mark of a BM episode by a mile.
Time for Brooker to hand the writing over entirely to someone else cus he’s clearly run out of ideas.
@Steveb that’s the thing though! 3 was a great *idea* (but 4 was awful). Honestly I think BM has often failed on execution- maybe Brooker should be ideas man, and leave execution to others. I still love his vision, but I think others could help hone it.
