@atpfm instead of reviewing movies, why not review your favourite apps? You all know a bit about software. And they’re cheap (free if you ask for a free license?)

Our toddler shattered our first TV remote (old model with the glass edge), and he lost our second one. I don't want to waste money on a third, and I'm not willing to attach an AirTag.
Swallowed button batteries cause serious internal burns - sometimes the injury is fatal. I’m only willing to risk that for things he doesn’t play with / steal.
The worst thing about touchscreen PCs is they're intuitive.
Which means your two year old knows how to press random toolbar buttons while you're trying to work.
@ivory actually - swap this bug report around... they somehow ended up on the website to edit their profile, instead of doing it in the app...
... perhaps it would be cool if Ivory had an onboarding process? Detect new accounts, prompt them to finish their profile pic etc. Mastodon isn't very user friendly by default and it would be awesome if Ivory could help?
@ivory my friend can't set a profile pic in ivory because the file size is to big (using the photo picker)
@gruber I think you're wrong about the digital market act.
I expect if Apple can do a thing, then third parties will be able to do it too. Anything that gives the App Store a competitive advantage would be a blatant breach of the Digital Market Act and attract a $100 billion fine.
I expect electron will come to iOS. And it will have JIT.

When it rains it poors... friday is my last day as lead developer for a complex app, with handover to a less experienced and fresh hire. Last week my SSD just... died. This week I have covidnand can barely get out of bed!
