Good. Judges have decided the #Netherlands has to stop sending F35 parts to Israel

They are using it for war crimes so.. that's not done

It's time #Israel is gonna stop it's terror attacks

Don't be fooled

At this point it's not about the hostages anymore

Netanyahu has only 1 goal and it seems he does everything to get it..

Netanyahu is as big as a terrorist as hamas at this point

It does not matter what one says, it's all about what one does

Once again, my favourite linguistics thing.

A calque is a word or words borrowed from another language whole being translated.

A loanword is a word borrowed from another language without the spelling, at least, being changed.

"Calque" is a loanword of the French "calque".

"Loanword" is a calque of the German "Lehnwort"

Funny how people always go with the classic,

"If you're not doing anything wrong, you should have nothing to hide."

over a far more sensible:

"If I'm not doing anything wrong, you should have no reason to spy on me."

What a Nuclear Bomb Explosion Feels Like

The existential threat of nuclear war is no longer a Cold War memory. With nine countries armed with around 15,000 atomic bombs up to 53 times stronger than those dropped in the Second World War, the stakes are arguably higher

Ahead of the International Day against Nuclear Tests on August 29 2018, we met up with British atomic veterans who were present at test sites

My fav take on the Orcas Attacking Boats thing is that this is just… like, what they’re into this year.
Orcas have fads and trends.
A few years ago, for a season, they liked to wear a dead salmon on their head. For fun.

Orca memes are on another level.

I forget who I was snarking about at the time. Probably the interests of one of my siblings.

She (gently) reminded me of how people sneered at me for being interested in SciFi and history etc. Asked how that made me feel, and if I'd want others to feel the same. Smart woman.

Her point was you don't have to like a thing, but should always try to learn a bit and see WHY others do. Because people being interested in things is always fun.

"autistic people don't handle change well" society is burning down because new information on things like covid, climate change, and even sociological topics (such as trans people existing) is so upsetting to the neurotypical masses it can't even be brought up without some of them seeing it as antagonism
