@yam655 the fandoms for a lot of my interests get super toxic and my only other hobbies are political organizing and being a sociology geek and that’s another exhausting world on its own... i feel like it’s a little difficult when you just enjoy consuming and thinking rather than doing? haha. like i think artists or crafts people and bikers and gym-goers get to bond over an experience that’s more humanizing than just things you get to do on the internet

@human_dude i get what you mean, i met a couple of people through joining an abolitionist collective recently but because of grad school and just generally how emotionally exhausting trying to live through pandemic is, it hasn’t exactly been easy to find time to just be friends at the moment. sometimes you just want conversations that don’t really have consequences in the real world other than feeling like a social being
