Hey, it's #TummyTuesday.
Don't forget to be proud of those beautiful bellies of yours, whatever the size. And show them if you want.
No fear if you do, I'm readying the virtual giant cannon if anyone dare posting shitty judgement.
For the times they are a change
I can remember my Mum and her friends talking about the 'the change'. Not in an open way that really explained what it is was, far more vague than that. "Well it's probably the change" kind of phrases. I did know it was the menopause but all I knew was that your periods stopped and things were 'different'.
Of course as I got older I learned more but mostly that did nothing
Let's develop the theme. Whilst sex itself is not morally dubious, icky, or wrong, many ways people talk about, use and symbolically represent it are.
For example, people may sexually objectify THEMSELVES but that is not the same as someone else doing it in regard to them, perhaps without their consent or even knowledge. Any number of vile narratives depict the entire female gender misogynistically as "meat to fuck" (to use past feminist language) which is certainly not remotely in the interests of women as a class or particular women who find themselves on the receiving end of those ideologically fuelled with such values and attitudes. To imagine that women are a subjected or inferior type of person whose role is to sexually satisfy men is brain rot of the highest order.
What I oppose to it is sexual agency and autonomy for everyone to depict themselves as they wish. But this is only a first step of a much longer staircase that is for another time.
