I am looking for someone to take over the https://alt-text.org project. There's a working prototype and lots of low hanging fruit to start with, and I'll be available for any help you need.

One larger task is to rewrite the backend in Rust. It's primarily CPU bound and Node is not ideal. I've just released an implementation of the image matching algorithm used in Rust, which was always the biggest hurdle: https://github.com/alt-text-org/image-match-rs

If you'd like to hear more, please DM.

Boosts welcome

This is me, performing one of my fire circles, drawing with molten glass on paper.

I am passionate about fire and working with hot glass, blacksmithing, various outdoor firing techniques for ceramics and such. This specific work was made within and for my MA thesis.

I am also interested in the circle, what that makes a society stay strong as the form of a stable circle - but also: how do we open up to include and welcome newly arrived?

This.

"Neurodivergent" sounds so badass and cyberpunk. Real William Gibson vibes.

A+ branding, no notes

not everyone wants the same things out of their social media as you do! not everyone's experience is the same as yours! that doesn't make their desires or experiences invalid or bad or wrong. it just makes them different
I love this idea: celebrating a great set of stories, and encouraging people to visit some really interesting Oxford museums. But I also really like the idea of these "story" artefacts appearing alongside the things that inspired Pullman - the blurring of different worlds being so much a theme of his work

Even if he hadn’t written three of the most-loved #DoctorWho stories, Chris Boucher would be a legend for just this line:

"You know, the very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common. They don't alter their views to fit the facts. They alter the facts to fit their views, which can be uncomfortable if you happen to be one of the facts that needs altering."

RIP Chris 💙💙
