As a child, I watched G-rated, family-friendly movies where Nazis were bad actually and people who refused to cooperate with them were heroes.

I think the grownups of that time were trying to teach the kids something.

Judge Rejects Government’s Attempt to Dismiss EFF Lawsuit Against OPM, DOGE, and Musk

NEW YORK—A lawsuit seeking to stop the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) from disclosing tens of millions of Americans’ private, sensitive information to Elon Musk’s “Department of Government Efficiency” (DOGE) can continue, a federal judge ruled Thursday. Judge Denise L. Cote of the U.S....

I don’t know—next time someone asks me an obviously tendentious question about what I think of #DEI , I’m going to go, “Hey, I didn’t go to #Caltech , so I steer clear of these house rivalries. But I do think House #Corrino has a good fighting chance against Slytherin House in the #finalfour. How’s about you?”
Going into the office for my semi-occasional visit is always a little surreal -- there are people I know by name, people I know by LDAP, and people I know by face, with a lot of folks in only one of those groups. The fun comes in when you find out that what you *thought* were three different people were, in fact, all the same person.

Today I learned that last November's version 3.15 of the #HamRadio ADIF standard allows to specify the type of #MorseCode key one has used during a QSO. In my case, usually <MY_MORSE_KEY_TYPE:2>PD .

For the brass aficionados among us, one can also put the specific make of your key. In my case usually <MY_MORSE_KEY_INFO:16>UR5CDX CT73 MB-L .

And if you know that data for the other QSO party, you can add that, too, to the ADIF QSO record.

What else is new? Check https://adif.org/315/ADIF_315_annotated.htm

"Crawlers are endemic. Now representing half of all internet traffic, they will soon outpace human traffic… As of late, they serve one more purpose: Companies such as OpenAI use web-crawled data to train their artificial intelligence systems…Websites are now fighting back for fear that this invasive species…will help displace them. But…this pushback is also threatening the transparency and open borders of the web…Unless we are thoughtful about how we fix this, the web will increasingly be fortified with logins, paywalls, and access tolls that inhibit not just AI but the biodiversity of real users and useful crawlers."

AI crawler wars threaten to make the web more closed for everyone

There’s an accelerating cat-and-mouse game between web publishers and AI crawlers, and we all stand to lose.

#ToyStory , but suffused with Sci-fi horror.

Like Alien or Aliens or Pitch Black, but instead of hiding from the xenomorph, they’re trying to avoid getting thrown in the trash. In one scene, there’s one panicky dumb guy who’s about to crack, and they have to convince him to stay in hiding. #humansAreCthulhu

Long story short, don't get into strangers cars just because they have antennas on them. They could do nasty things to you like fix Android malware
