But also toxic prudishness is spreading and it can get more and more damaging. Mainly via more trouble with social bonding and hatred towards LGBTQ people.

When it comes to regulating social media I have things higher on the priority list like holding social media accountable for lies and banning them from pushing specific views or taking political bribes.

I also think there should be a public option for social media ran like a public utility.

The thing is that the republicans don't want to. Trump thrives on division and they get away with doing their job badly by blaming democrats.

Not to mention the last time the country was very united was under Bush and also Clinton to an extent. With Bush it was to go to foolish wars and under Clinton it was due to accepting subservience to the capitalist overlords.
Neither was a good thing. I think division on rather we should oppose the capitalist lords or serve them is good.

I don't think it's just because it's old. It's also to keep the game functioning. Without a wealth tax and accountability the game can't function. Which is also true in real life, without sufficient taxation of hoarded wealth capitalism can't function for long.

There is this idea that capitalism is sacred and that capitalists are superhuman just like the feudal lords of old were. However just like the feudal lords capitalists are just humans. They jump on a hype train and make short-sighted, dumb and selfish decisions just as much as anyone else. If anything they make them more since they can punish anyone who talks back to them.
