I was there for 15 years and three-quarters of a million tweets. On Twitter’s best day, it was never as interesting or stimulating as the Fediverse has been for me on some of its worst days. Twitter was mostly noise and mayhem occasionally interrupted by interesting moments. Here, it’s almost the complete reverse of that.

"Roe is settled law" was such an obvious lie by Republicans and a total copout by Democrats who didn't want to be "controversial" by doing the right thing. Whether out of laziness, spinelessness, or their own conservatism, it doesn't matter.

They're largely mum on trans healthcare for the same reasons. They allowed the far right messaging machine to take over and now they're unwilling to stand against it.

The same with MORE COPS and most other things.

In 2020, only 3.6% of the world’s population lived outside their country of birth. This has already led to a lot of anti-migrant rhetoric and policies.

Imagine when 33% of humanity have to migrate.

And we haven't even mentioned the migration of animals, insects, and arachnids, and how that could lead to more deadly disease outbreaks and global pandemics.

Climate Crisis Is on Track to Push One-Third of Humanity Out of Its Most Livable Environment

As conditions that best support life shift toward the poles, more than 600 million people are already living outside of a crucial “climate niche,” facing more extreme heat, rising food scarcity and higher death rates.
