I still don't know how to search for a person and then follow them. @LemarTheConGuy I'm trying to follow you but I can't find the search button 🤣 God I feel like such a fuckin boomer 🤣
@culinarycara dude are you in Houston? I saw a thing about the water going bad ? hope you are okay!
why does Mastodon feel like the Linux of social media.

My brother's got a Tesla, and I was curious to drive it because I'd driven most of the other electric cars now available in the US.

It reminded me a lot of the Buick my dad had in the middle 90s: wide, kind of...sturdy? Good acceleration, but not really peppy. Turning radius about on par with the F150 I drive for work, which isn't great in a midsize sedan. Oh, and most controls are on a touch-interface tablet that's stuck on the dash. Hard to use while driving.

Overall, underwhelming.

@lolkat (raises hand even if we only met that one time at a dinner party)
ACAB includes billionaires who buy social networks.

One thing that's getting a little lost in this mix, is that some of the people desperately holding on at Twitter are because they are trapped by either healthcare or visas.

That there are systemic traps that trap workers in America so they feel unable to move freely to new employers who want them and would have better pay or conditions is *nuts* and deserves a lot more attention than it gets.

Ah, https://newsletter.ramiismail.com/ reached 5,000 subscribers. Really happy I started that before the Twitter-implosion, been such a lovely thing to work on!

@culinarycara I was thinking about all these platforms we're on and before the internet people largely had to pay for content to be put on their platform but we are giving it to them for free. so part of me was like, no more free stuff for billionaires.
