We will never fix this shit until billionaires cease to exist. I can think of two ways to fix the billionaire problem. Tax the rich (min 70% tax rate on income over $2 million a year) or we jail these sick fucks (I prefer to execute them). Neither will ever happen because idiots worship the rich. I’ll leave you all alone as soon as I’m rich enough to kill myself.

👀 #SupremeCourt did not disclose its longstanding financial ties with former Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff even as it touted him as an expert who independently validated its investigation into who leaked the draft opinion overturning Roe v. Wade. #leak #news #legal

Bloomberg's deep dive into how Musk and his minions -- one quisling in particular in this article -- have amplified extremists' reach is a must-read. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-01-27/elon-musk-s-twitter-trust-safety-head-ella-irwin-breaks-rules-for-him?leadSource=uverify%20wall

Again, I ask journalists, and all people who believe in common decency in our public discourse, who still use the birdsite: Why are you letting a sociopath leverage your integrity? Please think it over.

Welcome to Twitter

Where free speech means you ban any left leaning activists, like Chad Loder

and reinstate literal Nazis like Nick Fuentes, Andrew Anglin, and (convicted murderer, arsonist and thunder-Nazi) Burzum.

Anyone still on #Twitter is literally funding the alt-right with their interactions and data.

I have zero respect for that.

The work of creating a better world remains a struggle against leaders with hostile intentions

The Onion never misses

I gave up 15 years on Twitter and 22,000 followers. I used my anniversary to invite others to follow me to Mastodon, and I pointed out that every tweet is a donation to Musk. We know what he is and what he's doing. He gave Michael Flynn his account back on the anniversary of the Jan. 6 insurrection.

I started my #Twitter exodus as a boycott against Musk. Now, I'm thrilled to be here. I miss a few things, but Mastodon is just built better. I feel like it makes me (and you) better, too.

It was clear from the jump Musk didn’t understand the site he’d bought, but I’m still a bit surprised he doesn’t grasp that journalists are the main reason Twitter was more relevant than any number of other similar platforms. Can easily imagine looking back on this as a tipping point.

Remember: Twitter is Elon's company, he has the free speech and free association right to run it pretty much however he wants and to ban people for petty narcissistic reasons.

And we have the right to laugh and point at his ridiculousness and at the free-speech pretenses of his gullible fans.
