When birdsite doubled the number of characters we can use I made sure I got my fool quota. When Mastodon almost doubled it again I repeated the pattern, typing until I ran out of space: guess greed is my deadly sin. Anyway, no one has to post as often or as much per post as I do. But we want stats to show an ever increasing active member site. If you've opened an account, please post now and then. And please Boost other people's stuff. That impacts negatively on #ElonMusk. Who doesn't want that?

Donald Trump had the chance to do a prisoner swap for Paul Whelan—now he claims outrage that Biden didn't swap for Whelan.

The GOP voted unanimously to cut taxes for billionaires—now they claim outrage that the deficit has grown just as they knew it would.

The GOP has no values. They are power hungry extremists. Please get active, get organized, & vote them out

I used to wake up & check the news on the bird site. Now, I surf Mastodon over a bowl of granola & oat milk & my mornings are so much more enjoyable. I mean, I see lots of toots about the bad things going on in the world still, but the convo is chill, nuanced, factual & in & amongst all the bad news is GOOD NEWS. People are successfully restoring coral reefs? Yes! Art long thought lost to the nazis has been recreated? YES!

No question, all Democrats are beyond grateful that Rev Raphael Warnock has been returned to the Senate for a full six year term.
The 51 seats gives Dems control over all committees and judicial appointments, which will be critical in this cycle.
Now for the bad news 1.6 million residents of Georgia voted for a man who was astonishingly unqualified to hold high office. For me, that was the takeaway from less than a 3 point win.
This should be a huge wake-up call for Dem leadership.
