@lifedispersing Excellent - could you send me your email address in a direct message? Will email around all those keen in the next few days.
@KorinnaAllhoff yes of course! If they are keen and happy for you to do so, could you send me their email so I can get in touch?

Could those who are keen DM me with their email address? I will send around an email later next week to see if we can arrange a time etc.

I am a bit busy for the next few days - currently in Trinidad setting up some mesocosm experiments testing... competition theory in ecology!

@KenAThompson Fair! There is a fine line between "disagreeable" and "mover-and-shaker". I guess if "curiosities piqued" over "feathers ruffled" >1, you're all good...

...but sadly only measurable in hindsight. Good luck on the job market, and with your manuscript, whenever you choose to publish!

@jgamartin Perhaps the usefulness of double blind review is more apparent to those not in well-known, easily identifiable (and so already successful) groups? Isn't the aim to reduce reviewer bias against relatively unknown / discriminated-against groups? DB review is a tricky one - particularly in a world of pre-prints, but it does have its moments though - I loved it when we were told we didn't understand the work of X, X being the senior author.
@KenAThompson Perhaps I am being hopelessly naive. I would like to think that authoring a solid piece of scholarship identifying and clearly explaining a pervasive flawed argument would be an asset, rather than a liability, when on the job market! IMO the best such papers trace the history and dev of an idea, and why it became prevalent. So yes, citations should be the main justification/defence against accusations of Don Quixote-ism. Totally understand why you would be hesitant tho!

Male guppies have beautiful patterns that are inherited from father to son. Here are some examples of their colour patterns in high-predation and low-predation sites, both within the Aripo river in Trinidad. 30 adult males sampled from each site.

@Ruth_Mottram Thank you! I made this plot to remind myself of the scale of the data with which I am working - easy to forget when writing code and running models!
@KorimakoEcology Yes - part of a long-term experimental evolution study called The Guppy Project. We have been running monthly mark-recapture in 4 streams in the Trinidadian rainforest since 2007/8, albeit with an 18 month COVID-related gap. We are currently at ~450,000 observations of ~105,000 individuals!

@danielbolnick Ah! This bit is in the terms of service for Zenodo:

"Content may be uploaded free of charge by those without ready access to an organised data centre."

But who knows how long that will last?
