Male guppies have beautiful patterns that are inherited from father to son. Here are some examples of their colour patterns in high-predation and low-predation sites, both within the Aripo river in Trinidad. 30 adult males sampled from each site.

Looking forward to tucking into Abrams' new book on competition theory in ecology.

Is anyone else reading it? I would love to set up a regular meeting to discuss chapters / code up the models / hold me accountable for getting through it.

Vague plan is to read a chapter a week (depending on the chapter), then meet via Zoom or similar to discuss and share verbal / graphical / code attempts to understand the material.

10,000 lifetimes in a single figure.

This plot shows the capture history of 10,000 #guppies in one of our #LongTermEcology study populations in Trinidad, part of #TheGuppyProject

Each of these fish were caught, given a unique identifying tag / ID'd, measured, weighed, photographed, sampled for DNA, then released back where we found them.
