@jaykuo I'm sorry but the U.S. is not united and is a failed state. A cult of individualism raised to a national ideology has not worked out.
@nickfeik they choose to believe 'offsetting' is real.
@danirabbit you also have people that don't realise the personal is political and to be 'apolitical' is political .. it should be left in the past with the "I don't see colour" brigade.
@DataChick tee hee. Very clever.
@JennaPrice being so English could be given a rest .. being more European could help.. ie long lunches, afternoon naps, earlier retirement funded properly, just yknow .. living. If we all value our time, food, etc then we can find ways to make it work. 'The economy' as some deity to be appeased is just a new form of Protestant lunacy.
@jaykuo Australia is frightened. Please please please don't let this happen.
@HeatherInNZ I did the same in a rental a few years ago. My neighbourhood of neat as a pin houses with Australian flags on poles in the front yard wanted to report me to the police they were so disturbed.
@georgetakei the view from here in Australia is you have been a theocracy for a long time .. every president has to mention God constantly, it's on your bank notes, an atheist doesn't get a look in at being President ( Trump had to pretend he doesn't think he's God).
@lindamciver @rachelrwithers @themonthly they know that drove people to suicide. Not only do they not care but they appear to see this as meeting a kpi. I wonder if they had a column in their spreadsheet for 'Numbe of people no longer receiving benefits because we drove them to suicide' ?

There are more homeless people in Australia than there are people who will be affected by the super tax changes.

"On Census night in 2016, more than 116,000 people were estimated to be homeless in Australia."

This will have increased dramatically for 2023. But sure, let's have a big media week worrying about 80,000 millionaires.
