He/they 🧑🏼Not sure what the EU is doing. The GDPR is not pro-consumer, it's anti small business, and it hurts the European market more than it helps. I also hate cookie notices, they waste thousands of years of real people's time, and help with nothing. The DMA is just anti-(US-)big-tech—and if it aligned with a pro-consumer stance, I would be fine with it, but it doesn't. It will take mere weeks for fraud to be rampant. People swiftly click away warnings and have their bank accounts robbed just to get free stuff.
Also, Apple is so salty over the DMA, it's fun to watch.
The issue is that these developers wanted one thing (lower fees), but lobbied for “freedom of stores” and “external payment systems”
They got what they asked for, which is not what they wanted.
