🫧 VisionOS and iOS developer behind Blackbox. Always cooking, sometimes fermenting, now making candy?

Hand Mirror 4 is out now, you can take a Snap, draw on it, and save it to your Photo Library 📸

Here's some of my favorite UI details in a thread

I have so many fond memories at the mall playing indie games like Enigmo, Bugdom, and Cro-Mag Rally back in the day. I can only imagine that there are now kids (and adults 😉) out there playing Blackbox for the first time, having those same moments with something I made. So cool.

And thank you @sdw for the excellent photos!

As a kid, whenever we went to the Apple Store I always ran to the back to play the demo games on the iMacs. Now many years later, in an absolutely crazy, full-circle, bucket-list moment, my own game is one of those demo games on thousands of iPads in hundreds of Apple Stores around the world.
So fun talking and sharing everything Blackbox from 2014 to 2024! Love everything Antoine does for our little indie world. youtu.be/yGcmr591rVI
This leap into your living room would never have been possible without @arobertlong brains and tenacious problem solving, @danfountgames beautiful math and game design wherewithal, Gus Callahan's ear and attention to delightful sonic details, countless friends, and all the folks at Apple that helped us out along the way. #WWDC24
It is incomprehensibly wild to me how working on what was meant to be a side-project to learn iOS has utterly transformed my life, opened countless doors, and introduced me to the most talented, kindest people; some of whom I now get to work with daily as Shapes & Stories, defining and exploring the future of play :)
It's continues to be absolutely *unreal* that Blackbox is nominated for an Apple Design Award AGAIN, this time seven years later for visionOS!

Like many people, I had my Apple ID locked last night, and it was a big hassle trying to get it unlocked and working again.

One tip - when you go through all the rigmarole to get it going again, one thing that doesn't switch on by default is receiving iMessages or FaceTime calls via your Apple ID. So, like me, you will probably be missing messages until you reenable those in Settings. Also, if you send somebody a new iMessage it will default to your phone number which may not be what you want.

Would love to make a whole app out of synesthetic experiences—has anyone seen something like this in the AR space yet?
Without fail this ALWAYS makes me feel like something is blowing gently into my hand—anyone else? My brain has experienced this interaction in Blackbox 100 times and I still never get used to it! ✨
