Let’s get this straight, once and for all: Hate speech is not free speech, it’s the perversion of free speech.

When people travel to the past, they worry about radically changing the present by doing something small.

Few people think that they can radically change the future by doing something small in the present.

This is the only real time travel paradox.

So… Black Friday…

What will be your approach?

I dislike participating in the idolatry of capitalism & consumerism. Especially with workers treated poorly.

But…

I like saving $ & inflation = 👎

What will you do???

The ecosystem, between content creators, journalists, legal minds etc and those who are their audience, was such a beautiful thing to be a part of on Twitter as we faught back to know and learn and share the truth as it was under attack. It's even better on Mastodon as I watch all of us, helping one another learn a new site, find our contacts, reconnect, refollow and give a giant middle finger to anyone who thought Twitter did that. No. WE did. ALL OF US.
Living in British Columbia for 3 years taught me that living in America is like living in a casino. Everyone dreams of making it big, most go broke, the people watching and entertainment is unmatched, but in the end the House always wins. #introduction
One thing I learned moving from Nebraska to British Columbia and back is that Americans have a toxic commitment to suffering called "individualism." This belief that we should suffer always and we should ask for or receive help from no one. It's a cut your nose to spite your face mentality that is really astounding. Life in Canada was so damn easy by comparison and I wish more Americans, Nebraskans especially, understood how much better and easier their lives COULD AND SHOULD be.

My data is not yours to own.

You came here and asked to sell us things, then tracked us with the things you sold us.

You came here and begged for trust, which many gave you, then betrayed it by selling our secrets.

Then you took away our nation.

My data is not yours to own.
