Has anyone else noticed a change with their Fedilab @apps client app?

My client *used to* allow me to choose which browser would be used to open a hyperlink.

Suddenly, it seems that doing a 'long press' on a hyperlink, and selecting 'Open with another app', no longer gives any options, and just slams open the link in my default browser.

Anyone else experiencing this?
Any ideas on how to fix it?

An iPhone app called ICEBlock, which allows anyone to lawfully and anonymously report ICE sightings and get notified about nearby ICE agents, went viral overnight after criticism from the US Attorney General.

FYI: The app doesn't collect or store user data. (I checked by doing a network traffic analysis of the app.)

If you're on mastodon.social, you might want to move your account to a different server:

The Fediverse is protected from takeover as long as we are spread out on many servers. If one server dominates, takeovers become easier.

Mastodon.social is currently 25.5% of the active Fediverse. This proportion is way too large and seems to be increasing.

Larger servers also tend to have worse moderation and are harder to defederate, threatening safety.

Please stop sharing this picture of JD Vance. The Vice President is not happy that it's going viral. JD's wife told reporters he is so upset that he hasn't left the couch all day. He's so distraught that he won't even let her go in the room.

Meta just doesn't understand the concepts of privacy and security.

Headline:
●WhatsApp banned on House staffers' devices

•Andy Stone, a spokesperson for WhatsApp parent company Meta, said ...
"We know members and their staffs regularly use WhatsApp and we ... "

Let me stop you right there, Andy.

The very fact that Meta can, and does, use WhatsApp as spyware is the reason why you can say that.

Meta tracks the locations and contacts (and more) of all WhatsApp users, WHICH IS WHY IT MUST NEVER BE INSTALLED ON ANY GOVERNMENT DEVICE!

As Trump attacks students who dare speak up for basic justice for Palestine, a student at the University of Florida Law School named Preston Damsky wrote a paper arguing that the Constitution only applies to white people & Jews and non-whites should be “abolished by any means necessary.”

A Trump-nominated judge named John L. Badalamenti who teaches the class gave Damsky the highest grade and awarded him the Book prize.

University of Florida Law School defended the decision as “free speech.”

Many companies and individuals are trying to mislead people about the future of GrapheneOS to promote their insecure products and services. GrapheneOS is not going anywhere. We've made it clear we're shipping Android 16 soon and that the supported devices will remain supported.

Goes at least back to 2013 and has been reposted without #Attribution so many times that it's difficult to trace when it was taken, by whom, and the context. Which is why, in my opinion, we all should make a habit to not boost photos that don't have attribution. It's hard enough to tell what's real and not with genAI and active disinfo campaigns around.

Amusing or inspiring as the photo is...

@meganL @echanda I get your point and mostly agree but I wasn’t attributing it to any time or place (I realize the replies here on Mastodon relentlessly do that; maybe the answer is “only post some things on bluesky”).

That said, it’s not AI (I have a hard rule about posting AI slop), at worst it’s photoshop or staged but again: it’s comedy, essentially a meme, and not a claim to some actual political action (except as suggestion maybe).

@meganL @echanda

FWIW I knew it wasn’t AI before your screenshot proved that by dating it to 2013
