Uh...
In American English, it is generally accepted that
million = 10^6
billion = 10^9
trillion = 10^12

I believe this is used everywhere, talking about rich people, budgets, or other numbers.

I dont' think the reason billionares are evil is because we have wrong order of magnitude on their name.

Yeah, but who is going to make them? It's another case where so much of the society is predicated on people basically wanting to act lawfully. But the fascists can just wantonly ignore that and do what they like.
@augieray
I had no idea it was so abysmal.

A bit. I used Auth0 as an intermediary, which allowed low volumes for cheap/free and was easier to set up than doing oauth2 from scratch. But that was a few years ago now.

Help me, please! This is my Reddit thread. This is a crisis.

If you cannot provide me tech support, then please share this post for signal boosting.

Thank you.

Education is not a transfer of information.

Education fosters thinking, and in higher ed it trains disciplinary thinking. Ideas are given less than facts. Most people learn ideas inductively, not deductively, especially when being introduced to a discipline. Skills and thinking are learned by iteration and practice and feedback.

Office hours were of course collaberative: which means the student talks to the teacher, which is not in your model.

@graeme

Wow is that not how education works….

A "House of Cards" is a wonderful English phrase that it seems is now primarily associated with a Netflix political drama. However, its original meaning is of a system that is fundamentally unstable. It's also the term Sarah Thiele, originally a Ph.D. student at the University of British Columbia, and now at Princeton, and her co-authors used to describe our current satellite mega-constellation system in a new paper available in pre-print on arXiv.

@TheBreadmonkey
Naw, that wouldn’t affect much. They need to get the extended-play video with the shieking of everyone whose time has been wasted.

In Canada, you officially learn both English and French in school. But realistically, I learned a scant handful of words, my accent was atrocious, and I retained nothing long-term. There's often a big difference between "required to learn" and "learned"
